Which inputs control the arrangement?
Use approved equipment outlines, site geometry, civil backgrounds, cable routes, maintenance access requirements and the project drawing standard. Record which inputs are preliminary.
| Input | Use | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment outline | Plan and elevation | Vendor revision |
| Civil background | Boundary and levels | Survey or issued plan |
| Cable interface | Entry and exit | Approved route |
| Access | Maintenance envelope | Engineer review |
| Drawing rule | Scale and annotation | Project standard |

How should missing dimensions be handled?
Mark missing dimensions as open inputs and reference the document needed to close them. A scaled background is not permission to infer a construction dimension.
- Do not measure from an unscaled image
- Distinguish supplied and assumed geometry
- Record vendor outline revision
- Show interface boundaries
- Route clearance decisions to the engineer
What is the final GA check?
Check that plans, elevations, sections and schedules use the same tags and revision. Confirm that any engineering approval status is visible before issue.

Common questions
What else should the bid team know?
Does drafting decide the substation design?
No. Drafting turns approved engineering inputs into controlled drawings. The responsible registered engineer makes design decisions and performs sign-off.
Can a drawing set use any symbol library?
Use the project drawing standard and approved symbol convention. Where a standard is specified, the project team confirms the applicable edition and licensed access.
What happens when a dimension is missing?
Show it as an open input or request the approved source. Do not invent a clearance, rating or equipment outline.
